Salary deadlock: Kukës Court administration walks out; services limited to urgent hearings and security measures
The administration of the General Jurisdiction Court in Kukës boycotted work today, in protest over the deadlock created around salaries in the justice system.
The secretariat and administration of the Kukës Court will continue the boycott over the next two days.
During this period, services will be provided only for urgent court hearings, for security measures and for immediate protection orders.
The salary deadlock in the justice system was created after decisions by the High Judicial Council and the High Prosecutorial Council on setting judges’ and prosecutors’ salaries, in conditions where Parliament failed to resolve the obligation to recalculate salaries following the Constitutional Court’s ruling.
The administration’s boycott aims to draw attention to the salary issue and the situation created in the justice system, while citizens are the ones directly facing the restriction of administrative services.
