Salianji: Rama and Berisha should reveal what they discussed in the Rinas meeting
Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji claims that today at Rinas airport, Prime Minister Edi Rama and Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha held a “one-on-one” meeting. In a reaction, Salianji questions the content of the conversation between the two politicians and demands that it be made public. He stresses that citizens have the right to answers, particularly since, according to him, this is the second time Rama and Berisha have been simultaneously in the airport’s VIP lounge.
“Edi Rama must be removed by the force of united citizens, in squares and in the streets. Every extra hour in power is an extra hour of service to state capture, organized crime groups and the destruction of institutions. Rama does not recognize the rules of democracy. Therefore citizens must make it clear to him that power is not personal property and Albania is nobody’s hostage. But today there is also a question that demands a clear answer: Sali Berisha has the political and moral obligation to make public what was discussed with Edi Rama at the airport. What was discussed? Did Edi Rama withdraw his resignation after this conversation? Were mutual guarantees discussed for each other’s untouchability? Was there any deal to keep Albania hostage to an old political scheme? These are questions that citizens have the right to ask and that demand transparency, since it is now the second time that ‘by coincidence’ Rama and Berisha are simultaneously found in the airport’s VIP section. Albania cannot be kept hostage by secret agreements, political deals or personal guarantees,” Salianji writes.
The head of government recorded a statement at Rinas that was later broadcast on his social networks, regarding the house arrest imposed by the special anti-corruption structures against the former head of the State Information Service, Vlora Hyseni. Meanwhile, the media broadcast the arrival of the opposition leader in the VIP lounge of “Mother Teresa” Airport for his trip to Strasbourg, at moments when the head of the executive was still inside.
