Saranda police set up special unit to deal with emergencies and tourist season

Saranda police have established a special unit tasked with responding to emergencies and managing the summer tourist season in one of Albania’s busiest coastal cities.

According to the local police directorate, the unit will be on standby around the clock to intervene in emergencies, traffic incidents and public-order disturbances during the peak season.

Officials say the initiative aims to increase the sense of security among both residents and the growing number of foreign tourists visiting the Albanian Riviera.

Saranda welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each summer, putting significant pressure on local services.
