Murder in Saranda, minister Demo gathers police chiefs

Crime has set in motion even the country’s highest authorities.

Interior Minister Ervin Demo held an urgent meeting with district police directors, with the main focus being the execution of Artan Murtaj the previous day in the center of the city of Saranda.

During the meeting with police chiefs, Minister Demo ordered the complete dissolution of the leadership chain of the Saranda Police Commissariat, due to the successive criminal events recorded in that area.

The head of the Interior Ministry also decided to create a special Task Force composed of 10 officers and investigators, who will be stationed in Saranda with the direct duty of investigating crimes and solving recent events.

During communication with the General Director of the State Police, the minister also demanded urgent measures to increase security in school premises and the drafting of a detailed plan of measures for territorial control at the national level.
