Serbia Closes European Boxing Championships in Sofia with Four Medals: Ćirković and Kuluhova Defend European Titles, Simić Takes Silver

Serbia’s senior boxing team has closed out the European Championships in Sofia with an outstanding haul of four medals — two golds, one silver and one bronze — after a decisive night of finals in the Bulgarian capital, as reported by boks-fokus.com.

Sara Ćirković (54 kg) successfully defended the European title she won in Belgrade in 2024, defeating Finland’s Pihla Kaivo Oja in the final to climb back onto the top step of the podium.

Kristina Kuluhova (60 kg) did the same, beating France’s Stelin Grosi in the final to also retain the gold she had claimed in Belgrade 2024. She had punched her ticket to the final with a 4:1 victory over Donjeta Sadiku in the semifinal. The BK Lagator Loznica boxer was also named the best female boxer of the 2026 European Championships.

Rastko Simić (80 kg) lost his final to Russia’s Chirav Ashalayev 0:5, settling for the silver medal, while Milena Matović (70 kg) secured the bronze. Serbia’s final tally in Sofia thus reads two golds, one silver and one bronze.
