Serbian Army members take first place in shooting competition in Ohio, USA
Members of the Serbian Army took first place in the multi-day shooting competition held annually in Ohio, United States, the Serbian Ministry of Defence announced. Serbia was represented by members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the 63rd Parachute Brigade and the “Kobra” military police special-purpose unit.
Besides the overall team victory, based on the aggregate rifle and pistol shooting results, the Serbian Army members also took first place in the combat pistol shooting team discipline.
The absolute winner of the competition, the best individual, was First Sergeant Dušan Adamović of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade. Adamović was also the most successful in the individual combat pistol shooting discipline, where second place was also taken by a member of the 72nd Brigade.
The multi-day competition, organised annually in Ohio, brings together soldiers and non-commissioned officers to improve the shooting skills needed for combat duties, as well as training in handling weapons and teamwork.
The Serbian Army and the Ohio National Guard have for two decades developed successful cooperation within the Serbia–Ohio State Partnership Program. Participation in such competitions is one of the joint activities that improve the capabilities of the armed forces, strengthen mutual trust and contribute to the development of overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States.
