Serbian Minister Siniša Mali Challenges Dejan Šoškić to TV Duel: “Anywhere, Anytime — But Only Live”
Serbia’s caretaker Finance Minister Siniša Mali has publicly called on the former governor of the National Bank of Serbia and parliamentary candidate of the “Students Win” student list, Dejan Šoškić, for a televised debate on the economy and citizens’ standard of living.
Mali published the call in an Instagram video, saying he is preparing for the trip to New York with President Aleksandar Vučić, but before leaving he will call Šoškić “to confront views and show the citizens of Serbia the plans for the economy and the standard of living”.
The minister harshly criticized Šoškić’s tenure at the helm of the National Bank of Serbia: “hundreds of thousands of people were left jobless, factories closed and the exchange rate changed from day to day”.
Mali said he accepts the duel “anywhere and anytime”, with only one condition — a live broadcast: “since he stole everything during his term as governor, let him not steal this show too. I’m waiting for the call, I’m available.”
Mali’s call comes shortly after President Vučić himself challenged the “Students Win” list bearer, Ilija Srdanović, to a TV duel, turning the pre-election race into a string of public challenges for televised confrontations.
