Serbian students announce major pre-election rally in Novi Pazar on October 3

Students in blockade have announced that on Saturday, October 3, they will organize a major pre-election rally in Novi Pazar. The announcement was made via social media, where the student movement invited citizens to take part in the rally, as Danas reports.

The rally comes ahead of the snap parliamentary elections in Serbia, to be held on October 25. The student list “Studenti pobedjuju” (“Students Win”) is also contesting these elections, entering the electoral race with the aim of changing the political scene in the country.

Pre-election rally announcements are intensifying on both sides. Thus, the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) had earlier announced its first major pre-election rally on exactly October 3, in Belgrade — the same day as the students’ rally, but in a different city.

With this calendar, the election campaign in Serbia is taking full shape, with both sides aiming to show their mobilizing strength a few weeks before voting day.
