Serious incident in Vlorë: 43-year-old robs and abuses 70-year-old woman, wanted by police

A serious incident was recorded on Tuesday in the village of Akërni in Vlorë, where a 70-year-old woman is suspected of having been assaulted and robbed in her home.

According to police, the incident happened on September 26, Saturday, when a 43-year-old from the village of Akërni with the initials F. Y., who lived in the same building as the elderly woman, allegedly knocked on her door and, after she opened it, struck her on the head with an axe.

The 70-year-old lost consciousness, while the 43-year-old is suspected of having searched the home and taken around 700,000 old lekë found there.

Police also suspect that, before leaving the apartment, the 43-year-old forcibly had sexual relations with the 70-year-old.

After the incident was reported, police questioned the elderly woman and seized the axe believed to have been used in the attack as evidence.

The 43-year-old F. Y. has been declared wanted, while investigations continue to fully document the incident. According to police sources, he is also suspected of being a drug user.
