Shona McGarty and Frances Mayli McCann join the cast of ‘From The Heart’: Don Black’s music returns to the West End
Two new names have joined the cast of “From The Heart,” the cabaret celebration of Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black, which returns to London’s Garrick Theatre from October 8 to 18, 2026. As West End Theatre reports, Shona McGarty and Frances Mayli McCann are the latest names added to the company, while the first rehearsal photos have also been published.
For Shona McGarty, known from the long-running series “EastEnders” and from taking part in “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”, this is her first role in a West End musical. McCann, an Olivier Award nominee for her role in “The Great Gatsby,” returns to the London stage after “Bonnie & Clyde,” reuniting with director Nick Winston, who also directs “From The Heart.”
The pair join the previously announced names: Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe, Caroline O’Connor and Michael D. Xavier. This edition is described as the most ambitious version of the show to date, following the acclaimed concert performances of 2025.
“From The Heart” is Don Black’s personal homage to the New York cabaret scene that inspired his five-decade career — from “Sunset Boulevard” and “Aspects of Love” to “Tell Me on a Sunday” and five James Bond film themes. For this version, Black has written new songs together with names such as Gary Barlow, Natasha Bedingfield, David Arnold, Debbie Wiseman and Mike Batt, while his best-loved standards will not be missing — “Born Free,” “Ben,” “Love Changes Everything” and “To Sir With Love” — as well as a special homage to the Bond repertoire.
The show plays at the Garrick Theatre, 2 Charing Cross Road, London, from October 8 to 18, 2026, and is suitable for ages 8+.
