Shots fired at a café in Agios Panteleimonas, Athens: a 10-year-old girl wounded

Shots were fired shortly after midnight on Friday in the Agios Panteleimonas neighborhood of Athens, when four unidentified people in a moving vehicle opened fire on a café on Agorakritou Street. A 10-year-old girl of Albanian origin, who was inside the venue at the time of the attack, was wounded.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. at 32 Agorakritou Street, where unidentified people driving a car passed in front of the “Amora” café and fired at its façade. The girl, the café owner’s daughter, was wounded in the left leg, in the calf area, and was immediately taken to the Children’s Hospital by her mother.

Four people were in the vehicle, firing from inside the car before fleeing the scene. At the time of the attack, 10 customers were inside the café, all of them foreigners. The car used in the attack was reportedly found burned a short time later in the Aspropyrgos area.

It is still unclear whether the child was hit by a bullet or a fragment, while all evidence is being examined to identify the perpetrators and establish the motive. So far, the girl’s life is not in danger. Greek police have launched an investigation into the case, as ProtoThema reports.
