Showing off by driving on the sidewalk for TikTok, Berat driver fined 600,000 lekë

Driving manoeuvres on the sidewalk while filming a video on TikTok and endangering the lives of passers-by have cost a citizen in Berat dearly.

Police punished him with a fine of 60,000 lekë and withdrew his vehicle’s registration due to the lack of technical inspection and insurance.

Berat / Drove a vehicle on the sidewalk, in the city, punished with an administrative measure of 60,000 lekë and registration withdrawn.

After the publication on the social network “TikTok” of a video showing a vehicle moving on the sidewalk, on a street in the city of Berat, endangering the lives and safety of citizens, the Road Police services of the Berat Police Directorate carried out investigative actions to identify the driver of the vehicle.

At the end of the actions, the driver of the vehicle, citizen I. L., was identified and escorted to the Police Station, where further procedural actions were carried out.

In the end, citizen I. L. was punished with an administrative measure of 60,000 lekë, and his registration was withdrawn, as the check of the vehicle’s documentation showed it had no technical inspection and no insurance.
