Special Court of Appeal upholds sentences for Gëzim Bakalli and Erjon Loci

The Special Court of Appeal has upheld the sentences handed down earlier by the GJKKO (Special Court) against Gëzim Bakalli and Erjon Loci, accused of narcotics trafficking and of a structured criminal group.

Gëzim Bakalli was sentenced to 19 years in prison, reduced to 12 years and 8 months under summary judgment, while Erjon Loci was sentenced to 12 years, reduced to 8 years in prison under summary judgment.

They were part of a criminal group that, during the years 2018–2024, trafficked large quantities of drugs towards Switzerland, originating from Latin America and Germany.

Bakalli was a leader and financier, with SPAK documenting 15 episodes, while Loci assisted him in at least 6 cases of drug trafficking.
