SRCE demands urgent answer from Brnabić: Why hasn’t the European Parliament been invited to observe the elections?

BELGRADE – The Serbia Centre (SRCE) party, part of the “European Serbia” list, is demanding that the outgoing speaker of the Serbian parliament, Ana Brnabić, urgently answer the public why she has still not sent the official invitation to the European Parliament to dispatch an observation mission for the October 25 parliamentary elections in Serbia.

According to SRCE, the European Parliament is ready to send a mission twice as large as in the previous elections, in which it delegated a seven-member team.

“What is the government afraid of? Is the last moment being deliberately awaited for sending the official invitation so that as small an observation mission as possible responds?” the party asks, as the Danas daily reports.

Serbia Centre considers such stalling an unmistakable signal that the regime does not plan to secure fair, free and democratic election conditions, and that with this the lie about Serbia’s alleged “European path” has also been stripped bare. “In reality, that road is a political dead end that serves only the survival of one party in power,” the party stresses, convinced Serbia can only get out of that dead end with a change of government.
