State first-aid competition in Skopje: over 200 young people compete at Macedonia Square
Over 200 participants and guests, including the ten best youth first-aid teams from across North Macedonia, gather today in the center of Skopje for the State First-Aid Competition — the highest competitive level in this field, organized by the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia. The young people will demonstrate their knowledge and skills for quick and accurate response through realistically simulated injuries and emergency situations, conveying the message of the importance of first aid as a life-saving skill. The teams secured participation through municipal and regional competitions.
The solemn opening is at 10:30, while the competitive part lasts from 11:00 to 14:30. The activities take place at “Macedonia” Square and at several points around it: near the Macedonian National Theater, the Holocaust Museum, “Filip II” Square, the banks of the Vardar River, “Zhena” Park and the “Macedonia” Gate.
According to the organizers’ agenda, the teams arrive by 09:00, registration takes place from 09:00 to 09:30 at “Macedonia” Square, and after the competition (14:45–15:40) there will be a flash-mob choreography in the square, with the announcement of results and the awarding of prizes at the end. The event is also expected to include an address by the Mayor of Skopje, Orce Gjorgjievski, who is the patron of the competition.
The Red Cross stresses that the event aims to affirm first aid as a life-saving skill and to encourage young people’s readiness for quick and accurate response in emergency situations, as reported by Biznis Vesti.
