Štip: Investigation center at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office opens — the sixth in the country

The investigation center at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Štip has started operating — the sixth of its kind in the country, Republican Public Prosecutor Ljupčo Kocevski announced, as MNet reports.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kocevski stressed that organized crime knows no city borders, which is why the center must pay particular attention to financial crime — “the greatest misfortune of society,” as he called it.

According to the prosecutor, four investigators are planned for the center, two of whom have already started work, with four more investigators expected to join.

The opening was also attended by the head of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Štip, Nikolajčo Sulev, who said the center should make it easier for citizens to contact prosecutors.

The center will cover the Štip region, including the Bitola (Manastir) and Delčevo areas.
