Students call the ‘Guardians of the Homeland’ rally for October 4 at the Vuk Monument in Belgrade
As the Serbian daily Danas reports, students have called a rally named “Čuvari domovine” (“Guardians of the Homeland”), which will be held on Sunday, October 4, at 18:00 at the Vuk Monument in Belgrade. The call was published on the studenti.org.rs platform, Danas reports in its “Izbori26” section.
According to Danas’s reporting, the rally will be a conversation with citizens on the topics that define Serbia’s future: corruption, institutions and the irresponsibility of those in power — issues that for years have been at the centre of public life — as well as the questions that are shaping the country’s future: land, the environment and natural resources, the education of future generations, whether a farmer in Serbia can live from his work, Serbian institutions and the everyday life of people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the status of education workers.
The rally comes three weeks before the early parliamentary elections of October 25, in which the student list “Studenti pobeđuju” (“Students Win”) is also running.
