Students in blockade: “Those who talk about ‘student violence’, let them explain who beats citizens on official duty”

The students in blockade condemned the beating of the Anti-Corruption Agency observer, who was physically attacked near the stand of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in New Belgrade, as the Nova.rs portal reports.

“Near the SNS stand in New Belgrade, the Anti-Corruption Agency observer was beaten. He was on official duty and ended up at the VMA. After Novi Sad, those who talk about ‘student violence’, let them explain what is happening around their stands. Who beats citizens on official duty?”, the students in blockade asked in a post on the social network X, as Nova.rs quotes.

As Nova.rs recalls, the Agency’s observer was attacked earlier on Wednesday in Block 19a in New Belgrade, near the SNS stand, while he was following in the field the election campaign for the early parliamentary elections of October 25.

According to N1 television’s information, shortly before the incident the attacked man had explained to those present that he was taking the photographs on official duty, as part of the work he performs for the Anti-Corruption Agency.

Afterwards, as they told N1, he was attacked by several people, who caused him multiple bodily injuries to the head and body.

The Anti-Corruption Agency, in a reply to N1, said it had been informed about the incident, but would speak about the details on Thursday.

N1 television has sent an official email to the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding this event, but the reply is still awaited, Nova.rs reports.
