Tahiri: eight days remain for the decision on the president, political seriousness needed
The head of the parliamentary group of the Alliance, Besnik Tahiri, has criticized what he described as an “ignoring of the real situation” regarding the election of Kosovo’s president.
In a statement to the media after the plenary session, Tahiri said that on October 6 the country will face an important decision — continuing the institutional process or going to elections, as Telegrafi reports.
“It is incomprehensible and unacceptable that we do not talk about the real problems,” Tahiri said.
He called for more seriousness and political reflection, stressing that eight days remain until the deadline for the president.
“Today Kosovo needs seriousness, it needs reflection, because eight days remain until a decision. I do not see a serious process, I do not see reflection on the situation of what happened on September 16, I see the continuation of a situation that keeps repeating itself,” he declared.
Tahiri also spoke about the Assembly’s Declaration regarding the judgment of the Specialist Chambers against the former KLA leaders.
According to him, the declaration constitutes a pledge by the people’s representatives for institutional engagement on this issue.
“It is a state pledge of the people’s representatives that injustice, the engagement of the state and the need for unification on this important topic for freedom and those four men over there is vital,” Tahiri said.
