Tensions outside Parliament, residents of Memaliaj and Fushë-Arrëz clash physically with Erion Braçe

A tense situation was recorded at midday this Friday near the premises of the Parliament’s Presidency, where residents from Memaliaj and Fushë-Arrëz gathered in protest over proposals for the new territorial map.

The protest escalated into a physical clash between the residents and Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe.

Braçe was trying to enter the Parliament building and then approached the protesters to explain himself. Footage shows the moment of tension, while Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu intervened to calm the situation and prevent a further escalation of the conflict, separating the parties.
