The Malen Cyclone: “I’m Only Thinking About Scoring and Winning”

Malen has hit Serie A like a cyclone. Since his first goal on January 18 (against Torino), the Dutchman has scored 20 goals in 22 appearances — at least double the tally of any other Serie A player in that period.

Looking at Europe’s top five leagues, he has at least four more than anyone else (Harry Kane has 16). These are impressive numbers for the former Aston Villa man, who remains focused on the many commitments awaiting Roma in Italy and Europe: “Me, an idol? I’m only thinking about scoring and winning,” he told DAZN. “We have team objectives to achieve, and that’s all I think about.”
