“The meeting wasn’t about the SHISH scandal,” Peka: Rama called it to exert pressure
International relations expert Avenir Peka spoke on “Now” about the meeting of the National Security Council.
According to the expert, the National Security Council meeting was not convened over the scandal of the State Intelligence Service.
Peka argues that the presence of the SPAK chief at the meeting constitutes a form of pressure on him.
“I don’t know what was discussed, but the National Security Council is a consultative body of the president, where the latter has nothing in hand. It is an institution created under the 2014 law on the command authorities of the Armed Forces.”
“The person responsible for national security is the prime minister, since he leads the executive. The fact that the SPAK chief was part of the meeting is pressure. Because I saw the president’s statement saying that justice investigations should be conducted independently, as well as several other points. The meeting was not held over the SHISH director’s scandal, but over the criminal case against the SHISH director and other institutions.”
“The essence is simply his presence, and the message conveyed in the president’s statement shows that it was done for pressure. Seventy percent of those who are members of the commission are subjects of SPAK,” said Avenir Peka.
