The new American ambassador begins his mission in Albania, meets Prime Minister Rama

The new Ambassador of the United States of America to Albania, Eric Wendt, officially began his diplomatic mission in Tirana a few days ago. As part of his first meetings after taking up his post, Wendt met with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The news was announced by Prime Minister Rama himself through a post on social media, where he also published photographs from the meeting with the new American ambassador.

“Welcome. The welcome meeting with the new American Ambassador to Tirana, Eric Wendt,” Rama wrote in his post.

Wendt presented his credentials to President Bajram Begaj on 26 September, officially beginning his mission as Ambassador of the United States.

He succeeds Yuri Kim in this post, who left the position in June 2023. Since her departure, the American diplomatic mission in Tirana was led by Nancy VanHorn, in the capacity of chargé d’affaires.
