The presidency issue: Lushaku-Sadriu — “We are ready to contribute”
LDK parliamentary group leader Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu said after the Assembly session ended that her party remains ready to contribute to the process of electing the president and making institutions functional.
She said avoiding new elections is important for LDK, but stressed this requires the will of all political parties.
“We will act with maximum will to concretize the steps so that we have a solution for each problem, so that institutions function. As a party we have said it is important to avoid elections, but this requires the will of all parties,” Lushaku-Sadriu said.
She stressed that LDK has taken no position for or against any specific presidential candidate, but is ready to contribute to the process.
“We are not in a situation where we can say we are for or against a candidate. But we are ready to contribute to the election of the president,” she said.
Lushaku-Sadriu said LDK has also taken part in political talks on this issue, with the aim of Kosovo having functional institutions.
Speaking about the Assembly’s declaration regarding the Specialist Chambers’ judgment, she welcomed the inclusion of all political parties’ comments in the text.
“We want to contribute so that Kosovo is an independent and free state. To function in its independent institutions. It is important that we be up to the task,” she said.
On PDK’s proposed bill amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers, Lushaku-Sadriu said all legal procedures must be examined before taking a stance, as Telegrafi reports.
