“The Vvaan” jumps 45% on day two: around 11 crore rupees on Saturday, over 19 crore in two days
The Indian film “The Vvaan: Force of the Forest” posted a strong second day in Indian cinemas. According to Sacnilk data, the film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia collected around 11 crore rupees net on Saturday (September 26), about 45–50% more than day one.
Opening day (Friday, September 25) was softer, with around 7.5–8 crore rupees net, as Movie Talkies reports. With the two-day total reaching around 19 crore rupees net and around 2.25 crore from markets outside India, the film’s worldwide total stands at around 24.85 crore rupees.
According to Indian media analyses, the opening was affected by the Ganpati Visarjan festival, which kept part of the audience away from cinemas in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Hyderabad on day one. On Saturday the audience returned to theaters, giving the film the expected momentum.
Expectations now are for the opening weekend to close at around 30–32 crore rupees net. However, as box-office watchers point out, the real test will be Monday, when it will be seen whether the film keeps its momentum after the weekend. The film, released in cinemas on September 25, is competing at the box office with the re-release of “Avengers: Endgame Encore,” a development also confirmed by Bollywood Hungama‘s live tracker.
