They tried to take €100,000 from Duka, the two young men: A third person told us to pick up an order
The Court of Tirana has ordered detention in prison for Orest Balla and Edison Korra, accused as part of the attempt to fraudulently take 100,000 euros from the head of the Albanian Football Federation, Armando Duka. Before the judges, the young men contested the charge, declaring that they had no knowledge that they were being involved in an unlawful gain scheme, A2 writes.
It is learned that in their testimony they emphasised that they had been contacted by a third person who had asked them to pick up an order. In exchange they would be rewarded with a sum of money.
The arguments seem not to have found the support of the judges, who also found inconsistencies in the statements of the accused.
The case is linked to Florian Gjergji, who is wanted for carrying out other frauds as well. Posing in the name of politicians or other figures, he demanded sums of money, which in some cases he also obtained.
Last week the scheme was also attempted against Duka, who was asked for 100,000 euros in crypto, but the FSHF head reported the event to the police, who carried out the controlled handover of the money, arresting the two young men.
