TIFF 2026 closes its 24th edition with the awards ceremony

The Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) closes its 24th edition today with the awards ceremony, to be held at 20:00 at Cinema Millennium.

The closing ceremony will crown the most acclaimed films and filmmakers of this year’s edition, after several days dedicated to cinema, creativity and meetings with local and international filmmakers.

The festival organizers have invited the public to be part of the final ceremony, which marks the conclusion of the 24th edition of TIFF.

One of TIFF’s important features is its status as a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards® (Oscars). “Tirana International Film Festival – Best Short Film” is included on the Academy’s official list of qualifying festivals, which gives winning short films the chance to be considered for an Oscar, if they also meet the Academy’s other criteria.

With today’s ceremony, TIFF concludes its 24th edition, crowning the festival’s most outstanding works and continuing its tradition as one of the leading cinema events in Albania.
