‘Tiny Fugitives’ hits cinemas: Johnny Knoxville as a deranged camp counselor in Seth Rogen’s new comedy
“Tiny Fugitives”, the new R-rated comedy headlined by Johnny Knoxville, has officially hit cinemas across North America, starting September 18, 2026. The film comes from Inaugural Entertainment and Point Grey Pictures, the company of producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Knoxville plays Bob, a 50-year-old “lifer” camp counselor — inseparable from camp life — who must stop a new group of 12-year-old teenagers on a mission to stay at camp forever.
In an interview with Moviefone, Knoxville humorously described his role: “I like it when people misbehave. I like it when kids misbehave, and swearing is even better. So it was an easy choice.”
The film is directed by Michael Lewen, while the screenplay was written by Jacob Kaplan — a former “Saturday Night Live” writing assistant, who wrote the first draft in 2021 — and Lewen himself, according to Variety. Starring alongside Knoxville are Benjamin Pajak, Aaron Harris, Isa Bernal Steiner, Jai Soundar, Alyssa Gervasi, and Briana Templeton.
The film has arrived in cinemas with mixed expectations from critics: it currently holds 58% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 12 reviews.
