Tirana–Durrës Highway to Be Closed; ARRSH Announces Schedules and Traffic Detours

Drivers traveling on the Tirana–Durrës highway must exercise caution over the next two nights, as there will be temporary traffic blockages in both directions.

The Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) has announced that the measures are necessary due to works for the installation of cross beams, as part of the highway expansion project, Phase III.

In the Tirana–Durrës direction, traffic will be blocked tonight, September 21, from 23:00 to 05:00.

During this period, traffic will be diverted via the Rinas ramp and will then continue on the secondary road, to return to the highway via the Rinas road and the ramp toward Durrës.

For heavy vehicles, the detour will start from the “Casa Italia” roundabout, to avoid damaging the provisional Rinas ramp.

In the Durrës–Tirana direction, the traffic blockage will take place tomorrow, September 22, from 23:00 to 05:00.

Traffic will be diverted through the Kashar–Thumanë overpass and will then continue on the secondary road, on the left side, until after the Kashar overpass, where vehicles will return to the highway toward Tirana.

Meanwhile, vehicles destined for Rinas, Shkodër and Kosovo will be directed from the Kashar–Thumanë highway overpass.

ARRSH calls on drivers to exercise caution and follow the signage and instructions for traffic detours during the work hours.
