Tirana Municipal Council gives firefighters a bonus salary, 189 officers to benefit

The Tirana Municipal Council today approved Mayor Veliaj’s proposal to grant a bonus equal to one month’s salary to the employees of the fire service, following their engagement in dealing with fires, floods and civil emergencies during this year. The decision provides that the bonus will be received by 189 ranked employees of the Fire Service.

One of the most difficult situations the officers faced was the fire on Mount Dajti, where the engagement in the field continued from 25 July to 10 September. During this period, the firefighting forces were kept on constant readiness to monitor, isolate and extinguish the fire outbreaks.

Interventions were also carried out in Daias, Priska, the village of Gure and the Iba area, while Tirana’s officers were also engaged outside the municipality’s territory, in the counties of Durrës and Vlora, as part of inter-institutional cooperation. The high number of cases and the duration of the situation on Dajti brought a considerable operational load for the fire service.
