Two arrested for arson in Kombinat and Prush, one of them under house arrest

Two people have been arrested by the capital’s Police on suspicion of arson in Kombinat and in the village of Prush.

According to the Police, one of the arrested had breached his security measure for 2 criminal offences, was carrying a cutting tool and tried to flee from officers as soon as he set the fire.

The Police explain that they arrested 49-year-old E. K., as he is suspected of setting fire to some waste in “Garibaldi” square in the area known as “Kombinati.” The 49-year-old, as soon as he spotted the services, tried to leave. Also, from the physical check, a cutting tool (knife) was found on him, which was seized as material evidence, while checks showed he was under the security measure “House arrest,” for theft and for illegal possession of cold weapons.

Meanwhile, Sh. H. was also arrested, as he is suspected of setting a fire on a surface of land owned by him, in the village of Prush, and as a result of the spread of the flames, hilly surfaces of the village were damaged, and pine trees, wild vegetation and other trees were burned.

Two suspected perpetrators of arsons in Kombinat and in the village of Prush are arrested. One of them had breached his security measure for 2 criminal offences, was carrying a cutting tool and tried to flee from officers as soon as he set the fire.

As a result of intensive investigative and operational actions, carried out in implementation of the tasks left by the Director General of the State Police, for preventing cases of arson, as well as for identifying and bringing their perpetrators before criminal responsibility, the services of Police Commissariat No. 6 arrested the perpetrators of 2 cases in this field. Specifically, the citizens were arrested:

-E. K, 49 years old, as he is suspected of setting fire to some waste in “Garibaldi” square in the area known as “Kombinati.” The citizen, as soon as he spotted the services, tried to leave.

From the physical check, a cutting tool (knife) was found on the 49-year-old, which was seized as material evidence, while checks showed he was under the security measure “House arrest,” for theft and for illegal possession of cold weapons;

-Sh. H., as he is suspected of setting a fire on a surface of land owned by him, in the village of Prush, and as a result of the spread of the flames, hilly surfaces of the village were damaged, and pine trees, wild vegetation and other trees were burned.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution, for further actions.

The Tirana Local Police Directorate repeatedly appeals to all citizens to avoid any action that could cause fires, as the consequences can be serious for their life, health and property. In particular, the Police appeals to residents who burn waste or aim to clear land surfaces through burning, to avoid these practices, as they can cause the uncontrolled spread of fires and bring criminal consequences under the law.
