UN: At Least 112,000 People Displaced in Yemen in a Month — Nearly 3,000 Flee by Sea to Djibouti
At least 112,000 people have been displaced inside Yemen in just the past month due to the escalating conflict, the United Nations migration agency announced on Friday, according to a live update broadcast by Al Jazeera.

According to the agency, about 3,000 more people have fled by sea to neighboring Djibouti, while the government of Djibouti is preparing for the arrival of up to 10,000 refugees — acute pressure on the small African country’s already-stretched resources.
The figures come at a moment when fighting between Yemeni government forces, the Saudi coalition and the Iran-backed Houthis has intensified significantly in the northern provinces and along the Red Sea coast, including battles for al-Jawf, Taiz and areas near the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
The mass displacement is further deepening the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where, according to the UN, humanitarian aid has fallen to critical levels and the health system risks going “beyond the point of recovery.”
