Vangjeli: Albania’s political history can also be written through the crime chronicle
Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli declared on Alba Alishani’s “Trialog” programme on RTSH 24 that the political history of modern Albania in the last four to five years can also be written through the crime chronicle.
“In fact, the political history of modern Albania in these last four or five years can also be written through the crime chronicle. The crime chronicle, that is. If we look at what has happened with SPAK and the people it has struck, it would at the same time also be the political chronicle,” Vangjeli said.
According to him, Albanian politics, used to being the one that set the rhythm, is now following a judiciary that no one knows where it will strike. “Used to politics being the uncle who set the rhythm of the dance. Now politics is following a stick that no one knows where it will strike. Sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right. But now, in this kind of time epilogue, it seems to be striking hard to the left,” he stressed.
Vangjeli noted that, unlike how it should be in a normal country, the political chronicle in Albania is unfortunately written through the crime chronicle. This, according to him, shows the shaken pulse of society and of the political class.
“This shows that the country really, that society really, has the shaken pulse of the whole of society and naturally also of the political class, which has now suffered that fate that weakness usually hates: the moment when the prey begs and begs to swap places with the hunter. For the hunter to try what the prey feels. This is the relationship between politics and justice, and a justice that seems set to be a long continuity because of the history and the events,” Vangjeli concluded.
