Veritas warns Serbian citizens traveling to Croatia: you could end up in court

The Veritas documentation-information center warned today Serbian citizens traveling to Croatia that because of social media posts they could end up in court or with an entry ban, Serbian media report, among others Nova.rs and Danas (Beta).

According to Veritas, even in the case of a false report, criminal charges could be filed against them, they could face administrative proceedings, be imprisoned, deported or face an entry ban to Croatia or the Schengen zone, because of social media posts.

“Because of social media posts, even in the case of a false report, they could face criminal charges, court or administrative proceedings, an entry ban to the Republic of Croatia or the Schengen zone,” Veritas’s warning states.

Veritas recommends that citizens traveling to Croatia avoid comments or posts that could be interpreted as provocation, hatred or glorification, and to be careful even with content published in the past.
