VIDEO / 47-Year-Old Who Raised Bomb Alarm at ‘Emin Duraku’ School Filmed Himself: ‘Let’s See How Long It Takes Police to Come’

Edmond Jatagani, previously arrested for acts and calls for violence during protests, is the author of a phone call that alarmed Tirana Police as early as 06:30 this Monday, on the first day of school.

He then recorded a video outside the “Emin Duraku” school in the capital, where he explains in detail what he had done.

Without hesitation, he posted the video on his social networks.

“So, I just called the State Police at 112, to report the fact of terrorism with weapons of mass destruction in schools. I am at the ‘Emin Duraku’ school to report the fact of terrorism. Let’s see how long it will take and I wish every parent would do the same to protect their child. I am at the school’s intersection, let’s see how long the anti-terror patrol takes. Look, the flowers are ready for the teachers! The door is closed! There is no traffic, the streets are empty… The police just woke up the school guard. He must be a family member. About 2 minutes have passed and the police are still nowhere to be seen. No traffic, empty streets! Terrorism in schools,” he says in the video.

Immediately after the call, police forces were engaged to verify the information. After checks on the school premises, no explosive material was found, and the call turned out to be false, reports Klan News journalist Besar Bajraktaraj.

After investigations, Tirana Police identified the author of the call. He was arrested by police, in cooperation with Anti-Terror services.

The 47-year-old is accused of the criminal offenses of “False notification to law enforcement bodies” and “Dissemination of false information that causes panic.”

The procedural materials will be referred to the Tirana Prosecution, for further action.
