‘Vlora Hyseni’ case returns to the Security Council, Çuçi: SHISH will carry out an in-depth audit
The case of the former director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, is expected to return to the National Security Council, after the State Intelligence Service completes a full audit of the possible consequences the situation created may have had for the functioning of the institution.
This was announced by the chairman of the parliamentary Security Committee, Bledi Çuçi, during the meeting where the latest developments in the security institutions were discussed, including the security measure against Hyseni.
Çuçi stated that at the National Security Council meeting, convened on Monday by the President, SHISH presented preliminary information on the situation. At the end, according to him, it was requested that an in-depth audit be carried out as soon as possible.
“In connection with this case, the President convened the National Security Council on Monday and there was preliminary information from SHISH there. In the Council, the task was also set to carry out as soon as possible a deep audit in relation to any possible consequence, if there is one, for the functioning of SHISH, and I believe very soon we will have a meeting of the National Security Council, where it will be discussed even more broadly once this audit has been done,” Çuçi declared.
The audit will be carried out by SHISH itself and its results are expected to then be forwarded to the National Security Council.
The head of the Security Committee also stressed that the Assembly has its own control mechanisms over the security institutions, but according to him, the first step must be the completion of the Prosecution’s investigation into the role of the former SHISH director.
“Our committee also has a role in this regard, but all state links must be followed and first the Prosecution must be left to investigate to the end the involvement of the former SHISH director in relation to matters concerning security or not. Once we have a calming of the situation, we too have our instruments to call the security institutions to report on this case. Let the Prosecution do its work calmly and let us pass these filters of information coming from an institution as important as SHISH, and then there is us too. In time, everyone’s responsibilities will be clarified, whether criminal or administrative,” he said.
The opposition’s initiative on this case was also discussed at the meeting. Çuçi announced that the Democratic Party has filed a request for a motion, which is expected to be considered at the meeting of the Chairmen.
“As for political initiatives, I have been informed that the DP has made a request for a motion on this case and I think this case will be discussed at the meeting of the Chairmen, which to my knowledge has been set for tomorrow,” Çuçi concluded.
