Vučić in Rudna Glava: Welcomed by his army comrade and promises for ‘Jumko’ plants, a €40 million road and a railway

As NS Uživo reports, Aleksandar Vučić — now a candidate for prime minister as bearer of the list “Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia” — visited eastern Serbia today as part of the election campaign for the early parliamentary elections of October 25. In Rudna Glava, in the municipality of Majdanpek, he was welcomed at the home of Stanimir Belanović, his former army comrade.

As NS Uživo reports, with footage also shown on Informer television, the two looked at old photographs from their army days and recalled the years gone by. Vučić joked that Belanović — unlike him — had been an excellent and disciplined soldier.

The visit was not only nostalgic: according to NS Uživo’s reporting, Vučić announced that the “Jumko” textile plants will come to Rudna Glava, thanking the citizens of Republika Srpska for the orders they give the company. He added that in the future a bypass road worth €40 million will be needed, and he stressed that the railway is of crucial importance for the region — Negotin, Zaječar, Bor and Prahovo — as well as for the connection with Niš and Belgrade.

Vučić also praised the new road from Klokočevac, saying it is like an aircraft runway, “like in Switzerland.” At the end of the visit, he asked for the cameras to be turned off so he could watch Crvena Zvezda’s match against Hapoel in the basketball EuroLeague, being played tonight in Belgrade: “turn off the cameras… give me Arena.”
