Vučić tours eastern Serbia: visits Brestovac–Selište road, Podgorc dairy, Leskovc and Kladovo

As Niš TV reports, Aleksandar Vučić, the leader of the ‘Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia’ electoral list for the October 25 parliamentary elections, continued his tour across Serbia on Tuesday with meetings with citizens in the east of the country. The first stop, starting at 9:30 AM, was an inspection of works on the Brestovac–Selište road, while Telegrafi reports that he is visiting the main road section near Bor, declaring those 21 kilometers very important and that the two-billion-dinar investment is not small.

From 10:00 AM a visit was planned to Podgorc near Boljevac, at the ‘7. juli’ family dairy, which has been processing milk and its products since 2005. A conversation with citizens was also planned there. From 11:00 AM Vučić was to be in the village of Leskovc near Zaječar, where he would visit an ethno farm and meet representatives of several women’s associations, who would present the traditional gastronomic offer and crafts.

From 1:00 PM the program includes a visit to Nikola Stingić’s farm in Rtkovo near Kladovo; from 1:45 PM the ‘Misija kreativa’ Women’s Association in Kladovo, which works to preserve tradition and old crafts; and from 2:30 PM Vučić will stay in Brza Palanka, also near Kladovo.

“I will take part and I will fight. I will always respect the will of the people. I will speak more freely, because I am no longer bound by the function of president,” Vučić said, as reported by Niš TV. Speaking about his political opponents, he assessed that they do not want debates and that, according to him, it is becoming increasingly clear to citizens that there is “no answer” from them.

During the visit to the Podgorc dairy, Vučić declared support for small producers – “The state is here to help, you should not rely only on agricultural subsidies, but also on the funds of the Ministry of Economy,” he said, as Regionalne vesti reports citing Tanjug. He also promised that the reconstruction of the Brestovac–Selište road would be completed by the end of March next year, if citizens trust him with their vote, as well as a discussion with the minister for public investments on rebuilding the school in Mali Izvor and improving the water supply for surrounding villages.

Tuesday’s tour comes two days after Vučić resigned from the presidency on September 27, when he announced he would run for prime minister in the snap elections of October 25. According to Telegrafi’s reporting, he is traveling across Serbia in his ‘Škoda’ car for direct meetings with citizens, without a publicly announced schedule.
