Warner Bros. Confirms: Trailer for Animated Film “Batman: Knightfall Part 2” Drops Tomorrow on Batman Day

Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that the trailer for the animated film “Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest” will be released tomorrow, September 19, 2026, to coincide with Batman Day — the annual day dedicated to the Dark Knight. Pre-orders for the animated film will also open the same day.

The sequel picks up after Bane brutally defeated Bruce Wayne by breaking his back. With Wayne paralyzed, the mantle of Batman passes to Jean-Paul Valley, known as Azrael, whose violent and merciless methods call into question the very meaning of being Batman.

The first part, “Batman: Knightfall Part 1”, was released on digital platforms last month and has scored 94% on Rotten Tomatoes (Popcornmeter). To mark the release of the sequel’s trailer, the first part will be offered at a promotional price at digital retailers.

The film is directed by Jeff Wamester with a screenplay by Jeremy Adams, and carries an R rating — for intense violence, like the original comic on which it is based. The animated trilogy is based on the famous comic saga “Knightfall / Knightquest / KnightsEnd”.

The studio has not yet given an official release date for the film in 2026, while the third and final part of the trilogy is expected in 2027.

Notably, this is the animated film “Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest” and has no connection to Matt Reeves’ live-action sequel “The Batman Part II”.
