Yugoslav communists to run in October 25 elections on the Russian Party’s minority list
Two Yugoslav communist associations, the NKPJ (New Communist Party of Yugoslavia) and the SKOJ (League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia), announced they will take part in the October 25 parliamentary elections and will run on the Russian Party’s minority list.
In their announcement, the two associations emphasize that they share positions with the Russian Party on many issues: they are against Serbia’s membership in imperialist alliances such as NATO and the European Union, and instead advocate strengthening comprehensive cooperation with brotherly Russia and the BRICS countries.
They consider Kosovo and Metohija part of Serbia, categorically oppose the imposition of sanctions, and cultivate and mark the country’s and people’s antifascist traditions from World War II.
The announcement calls on the working class, the peasant proletariat, students, pensioners, youth, the unemployed, Yugoslavs and the honest intelligentsia to vote for the Russian Party in the elections.
The two associations assessed that in the previous parliamentary elections, held on December 17, 2023, they achieved considerable success: the Russian Party list then won 11,000 votes and one deputy — Slobodan Nikolić, who was a member of the parliamentary group of Željko Veselinović’s Workers’ Party and the United Peasant Party.
