Art Basel Miami Beach announces 272 exhibitors for 2026: the major art fair becomes smaller and more focused
Art Basel Miami Beach has announced 272 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and territories for its 24th edition in 2026, as The Art Newspaper reports. America’s most important art fair will open to the public from December 4 to 6 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, while the VIP preview days will take place on December 2–3.
This year’s edition brings a deep restructuring: the fair’s overall footprint will be about 12% smaller, while the main Galleries sector shrinks by about 10%, from 226 exhibitors last year to 204 this year. Instead of five large hospitality lounges there will be four, opening up sightlines and improving circulation; large galleries will be spread throughout the fair rather than clustered in a single section, to ease congestion, while the Meridians section, dedicated to large-scale works, is eliminated entirely.
The fair’s director, Bridget Finn, describes the redesign as an effort to “strengthen the impact of the fair and create the strongest conditions for our galleries to thrive”, stressing that exhibitors themselves have reinforced the value of a more focused environment, where every presentation will have space to draw attention.
More than 30 galleries are taking part for the first time, most through project-based sectors such as Nova, Positions and Survey. Galleries from Latin America and the Caribbean are represented in depth, with Brazil once again the third-largest national contingent — with names such as Raquel Arnaud, Simões de Assis, Nara Roesler and A Gentil Carioca — while galleries from Los Angeles and Chicago are well represented and South Florida’s presence has grown significantly.
