Assembly presidency meeting continues, amendment of the Specialist Chambers law also under discussion

PRISTINA — The presidency of the Kosovo Assembly convened today, in the first meeting for the 11th legislature. The meeting had started about an hour before noon.

Initially it was planned that the agenda would include the establishment of regular parliamentary committees, among the key steps for the normal functioning of the Assembly’s work in this legislature.

But, according to Klan Kosova journalist Qëndresa Bellagoshi, part of the discussion in this meeting will also be the request of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) to amend and supplement the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo.

This PDK request is expected to spark new political debates, as the Assembly presidency is expected to take a position on further procedural steps.

The presidency meeting is continuing and more details on the discussed points and decisions taken are expected to be published later in the day.
