Bar: Municipal vice-presidents received the delegation of the U.S. military ship ‘USNS Medgar Evers’

The vice-presidents of the Municipality of Bar, Tanja Spičanović and Damir Rašketić, today received the delegation of the U.S. military ship “USNS Medgar Evers”, led by Captain Erik Lenardson, on the occasion of the ship’s stay in the port of Bar, as the Montenegrin portal CdM reports.

The meeting was an occasion to emphasise the high-quality cooperation within the framework of the NATO alliance and the importance of joint action towards the challenges partner states face. According to CdM’s reporting, during the conversation it was emphasised that such visits strengthen mutual trust and good partnership relations.

Vice-president Spičanović acquainted the guests with the economic, tourist and cultural potentials of Bar, highlighting the openness and multicultural character of the city, as well as the importance of this visit for deepening cooperation based on a shared commitment to democratic and civic values.

Vice-president Rašketić presented the guests with part of Bar’s rich history and spoke about the large Bar diaspora in the U.S., which makes an important contribution to the development of the city and the state.

Captain Lenardson thanked them for the warm reception and hospitality, emphasising that the stay in Bar is also an opportunity for the delegation and the crew to get to know the city, its cultural heritage and its characteristics more closely.
