Berane: two people detained over domestic violence
The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Berane has ordered up to 72 hours of detention for two people, T.B. and B.L., suspected of domestic violence, as the Montenegrin portal Vijesti reports.
According to the Berane Basic State Prosecutor’s Office statement, as reported by Vijesti, T.B. is suspected of having, on September 24, in the family home in the Talum neighbourhood of Berane, after a verbal argument, struck his wife several times on the head and body with a wooden stick, causing her minor bodily injuries.
B.L., according to the same prosecution statement cited by Vijesti, is suspected of having, early this morning, while intoxicated, struck his elderly uncle — a person belonging to a particularly vulnerable category due to age — with open and closed fists on the head in the family home, after a verbal attack.
The up-to-72-hour detention was ordered due to the risk of the criminal offence being repeated, while for B.L., as the prosecution statement says, there is also a risk of obstructing proceedings by influencing witnesses.
