Berisha against the changes to the new Penal Code: It was neither approved nor drafted by Council of Europe specialists!

The DP leader expressed today (1 October) from Strasbourg his opposition to the changes to the criminal procedure code.

After meeting the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, he said he was told in the discussion that the Council of Europe experts had not approved this package.

“This is not a package suggested, approved or drafted by the specialists of the Council of Europe,” Berisha was quoted as saying, referring to what he was told at the table.

The DP leader also added that he presented what he described as the reality of the situation in Albania, accusing the majority of supporting criminal groups.
