Cardiac surgery gets a new structure, Rama: Investments in QSUT will continue in 2027 too

Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the new Cardiac Surgery structure at the ‘Mother Teresa’ University Hospital Centre (QSUT), which aims to offer modern services and raise the standards of care for patients. During the visit, Rama declared that investments in QSUT will continue in 2027 as well, with the aim of meeting the needs of the hospital structures. ‘The investments in QSUT in their entirety have been carried out, and what is golden from my side is that we must have no limitation in the QSUT budget as far as meeting the needs is concerned, and we will have to address them all with the 2027 budget. That is the ambition,’ Rama said.

Another objective mentioned by the prime minister is the completion of the large car park with 1,400 spaces at the entrance to QSUT. According to Rama, this intervention will make it possible to remove vehicles from the hospital grounds and transform the interior spaces into a green area. ‘With the completion of the large car park with 1,400 spaces at the entrance, we will finally remove all the cars from the hospital grounds, while the whole hospital territory should be turned into a park, which we believe we will realise within two years,’ he declared.

Rama also spoke about a possible partnership with another well-known structure, announcing that discussions on this project are continuing. According to the prime minister, the partnership envisages a management model and the construction of a private structure within the hospital grounds, where QSUT professionals would be able to work in parallel. ‘We are continuing to discuss the hospital’s partnership with another very well-known structure, and I believe that very soon we will manage to build this partnership, which will consist of a management arrangement. Part of this plan is the construction of a private structure inside the hospital, a structure where you will work in parallel,’ Rama said.
