Berry and banana smoothie — the refreshing, energizing morning drink
A thick, creamy smoothie with frozen berries, banana and Greek yogurt is the quickest and tastiest way to start the day with energy. Ready in five minutes, with no cooking at all, and full of vitamins, fiber and antioxidants — exactly what modern healthy-eating cuisines recommend for a balanced breakfast.
Ingredients (for 2 glasses)
- 1 ripe banana (frozen beforehand for a thicker texture)
- 200 g frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
- 150 g natural Greek yogurt
- 200 ml milk (or almond milk)
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 4–5 ice cubes (if using fresh fruit)
- Mint leaves for decoration (optional)
Preparation steps
- Put the milk and Greek yogurt in the blender first, so the blade catches the liquid easily.
- Add the chopped banana, the frozen berries and the honey if you are using it.
- Add the ice cubes if you want a colder, thicker texture.
- Blend on high speed for 45–60 seconds, until the mixture is completely smooth; stop and scrape down the sides of the blender if needed.
- Check the consistency: add a little milk to thin it or a few more berries to thicken it, and blend again.
- Pour into tall glasses, decorate with mint leaves and serve immediately.
Preparation time: 5 minutes. Cooking: no cooking required. Servings: 2 glasses.
Tip: for a lactose-free version, replace the Greek yogurt and milk with coconut yogurt and almond milk.
