Israeli settlers attack the village of Osarin in the West Bank: a 50-year-old man brutally beaten
Israeli settlers wounded several Palestinians in an attack on the village of Osarin, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reports, as cited by Al Jazeera.
According to Wafa, dozens of settlers entered the village, where they attacked homes, stoned vehicles and assaulted several villagers; a 50-year-old man was brutally beaten, suffered several injuries and was taken to hospital.
In a separate development today, settlers burned olive trees on Palestinian land in the village of Abu Dis, while Israeli forces fired gas bombs at Palestinians and journalists in the village of Osarin in Nablus, according to Al Jazeera correspondents on the ground.
The attacks come on a day of heightened violence in the West Bank, where earlier settlers attacked olive pickers in Awarta and Israeli forces carried out raids in Burqa, Tubas and Rafat.
