Kusari-Lila: The diaspora has great potential for investment and partnerships with Kosovo

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, announced that during her two-day visit to Germany she took part in an activity organised by the Union of Albanian-German Businesses in the city of Kehl.

Kusari-Lila wrote that the activity gathered about 420 businesses, most of them Albanian, but also German businesses and others founded by entrepreneurs originating from different countries.

“The evening began and ended to the sounds of Albanian music, performed by our mezzo-soprano, Flaka Goranci,” Kusari-Lila wrote on Facebook.

Minister Kusari-Lila stressed that in the presence of compatriots, the Chair of the Union’s Presidency, Zenun Krasniqi, and the President of the Union’s Advisory Board, Nazmi Viqa, “once again the strong bond with our diaspora and its potential to create new bridges of cooperation and to bring new investment and partnerships with Kosovo were highlighted”.

At the event, Kusari-Lila said she also met the Mayor of the City of Kehl, Wolfram Britz, while together with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Germany, Faruk Ajeti, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Strasbourg, Fitor Murati, the Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo in Stuttgart, Hamdi Bërbatovci, and the Director of GIZ Kosovo, Markus Delfs, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation and the role of the diaspora in strengthening economic ties.

“During my presentation to the entrepreneurs, I spoke about the opportunities Kosovo offers for investment, business development and economic cooperation, but also about the great potential of our diaspora through its experience, networks and knowledge of the German and European markets,” she wrote.

The activity was also attended by representatives of diaspora businesses and Albanian entrepreneurs in Germany, among them representatives of GREENHOUSE SH.P.K., Faber Media & Production GmbH, SHEHU Group LLC and Frigo DELUXE, who presented and shared their success stories in doing business.

According to her, the Union of Albanian-German Businesses is proof of the power our diaspora has when it networks, cooperates and builds bridges. And it is precisely such bridges that we want to build even more between Kosovo, Germany and the European market.
