Besnik Tahiri: The Draft Law on the Specialist Chambers Is Already with the Government, and It Has Our Support

Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) MP Besnik Tahiri confirmed after the Assembly Presidency meeting that the Democratic Party of Kosovo’s (PDK) legislative initiative to amend and supplement the Law on the Specialist Chambers is already with the government, and that the Alliance supports PDK on the initiative.

Tahiri reiterated the need for the Assembly to adopt a political statement — a declaration or resolution condemning the ruling and demanding justice for the four former KLA leaders in The Hague.

“The Alliance reiterated at this meeting what it said three days ago: the need for the Assembly of Kosovo to adopt a political statement, a declaration or resolution that would condemn [the ruling] and at the same time demand justice for our four liberators in The Hague,” Tahiri said.

On Thursday, the parties agreed on a joint declaration against the Specialist Chambers’ ruling, while on Monday the Assembly is expected to convene to vote on the declaration.
